Cheerdown: Countdown Widget

Effective 12 October 2026

The short version

What Cheerdown stores, and where

The countdowns you create are stored on your device. They include the title, date, icon, theme, and any photo you add. If iCloud is turned on, Cheerdown syncs them to your devices through Apple's iCloud, using your own private iCloud storage. Apple handles that storage under the Apple Privacy Policy. We, the developer, can't access it.

Cheerdown also saves daily backup files on your device. You can see them in the Files app, and they never leave your device unless you move them.

Shared countdowns

When you share a countdown, Cheerdown uses Apple's iCloud sharing. The people you invite can see and edit its title, date, repeat setting, icon, theme and background, including any photo you've added to that countdown. Your notification settings and display preferences are never shared. You can stop sharing or leave a shared countdown at any time.

Photos

When you choose a photo as a background, Cheerdown can only access that one photo, never the rest of your library. A resized copy is kept with the countdown on your device and in your iCloud. If you share that countdown, the people you invite see the photo too.

Notifications, widgets and Live Activities

Reminders, widgets and Live Activities are all created on your device. Cheerdown doesn't use a server to send them.

Purchases

Cheerdown Pro is sold through the App Store, and Apple processes every payment. We never receive your payment details. The app only checks with Apple whether you have Pro.

What we don't do

Cheerdown has no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. It doesn't collect your name, email, location or contacts. It doesn't sell or share data with anyone, because there's no data to share.

Children

Cheerdown is suitable for all ages and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Delete a countdown in the app, then remove it from Recently Deleted. To remove everything, delete the app. To clear the iCloud copy, open Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage › Cheerdown and delete its data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
